Review of Bury Lane Fun Barn

Overview

Bury Lane Fun Barn is a soft play centre with a farm café, farm shop, and seasonal “pick your own” activities 🌱. We visited with our children (ages 6 & 8) during the summer. The Fun Barn runs timed soft play sessions (which often sell out at weekends/holidays) and also offers monthly SEND sessions.

👀 First Impressions

Easy to find and park 🚗. It can get busy at the start of sessions, but queues move quickly. The venue was kept clean, and staff were friendly and welcoming.

♿ Accessibility & SEND-Friendliness

  • Sensory room is included in SEND sessions 🧩.

  • On standard visits, access to the sensory room costs extra.

  • Staff were very understanding and flexible with different needs.

🍴 Facilities & Environment

✅ Toilets and café
✅ Sensory room
✅ Seating (upstairs is recommended if visiting at busy times)
Everything felt safe, clean, and comfortable.

🎉 The Experience

The Fun Barn offers a huge play space with areas for different ages and abilities. In summer, the wider site includes a variety of outdoor activities 🌞, while indoors the soft play keeps children entertained for hours. It is also a popular party venue.

🌟 Highlights & Challenges

🙌 Lots of activities and space = big win

⚠️Can get very busy during peak times

🥪Food available but on the expensive side

💷 Value for Money

Sessions are fairly priced and feel like good value.
