Review of Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge

🧗 Overview 🧗

Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge is a bright, family-friendly climbing centre with colourful walls, a small café, and a party area. We visited in August with our two children (6 & 8) during a dedicated SEND Session on a Sunday morning.

👀 First Impressions

Easy to find near Cambridge train station 🚉, with some parking outside and more a short walk away. The centre felt clean, tidy, and welcoming. Staff were friendly and set a positive tone right from the start.

♿ Accessibility & SEND-Friendliness

The SEND session made a real difference 🙌.

Numbers were smaller, creating a calmer atmosphere with a great staff-to-child ratio. The briefing was adapted to suit the group, and staff were flexible in supporting different needs.

A sensory story is available on the website (great for preparing children ahead of time 📖).

We understand a hoist may be available for accessibility, though we didn’t use it.

🍴 Facilities & Environment

There are toilets, a café, seating, and a party space. Everything was clean and well maintained. While we didn’t spot a dedicated quiet room, the smaller group size made the experience feel calmer.

🎉 The Experience

Our children loved trying out the different walls — each designed for different ages and abilities. Staff were supportive, encouraging, and adapted instructions when needed. The one-hour session was plenty of time to explore.

🌟 Highlights & Challenges

✅ Small groups & adaptable staff

❗ Parking can be limited outside (arrive early if you can).

💷 Value for Money

£25 for two tickets at the SEND session felt like good value.

👍 Overall Rating

A fantastic climbing experience for younger children who enjoy a challenge. The SEND session makes it calmer and more supportive — though like any climbing centre, expect some noise.
